This morning I rode around Cheyenne Canyon. Wow, I was actually sweating at 8:30 in the morning halfway up Buckhorn. I've been out on the single speed every morning this week. Today the temps are going to be close to 70.
It's almost 70 degrees in Colorado today. Obama was sworn into the Presidency and I have been out on the Rig for 2 days in a row. Life is bueno. It feels really good to be back out on the bike. 9 months until SSWC 09 Durango.

There is going to be a Bicycle Show here in the Springs Feb. 21st. Looks interesting. Now there is a bike show here in town and a few local races. Less travelling for '09.
Both John and I made it into the Single Speed World Championships in Durango! We will be lining up against the best riders in the world and representing Team Sock Puppet. This will be the only race I really care about in '09. The race will be this September 16th - 20th so I have 9 months to prepare my legs and my liver.
I finished coloring my bulldozer and mailed in my entry today. I'm hoping that I made it in to the Single Speed World Championships taking place right here in colorful Colorado. Just to be safe I'm going to make a short film for the 1x1 film festival which will guarantee me an entry. Rock and Roll.
The Singlespeed World Championship will be in Durango, CO this year. Team Sock Puppet (Me, Juan, and Fast Nick) will be putting in our entries to dominate the 1 Gear Champs this September 16th - 20th. I've let my body lose just about all fitness so I can really enjoy the pain of rebuilding to race shape by spring. I rode the Cross-Check on the roads and a little singletrack this week and will be using this bike the most to build back fitness. The Rig has a brand new chain the tubeless set up is good and the brakes are bled. The sword is sharpened and ready for battle.
